149 Days To Go!

Our Beginning

Picture of Our Beginning

Where to even begin..
Years ago as I was on my way home from work and sometimes in the morning I’d see the most beautiful girl driving this little blue Dodge Dart. Always in passing I never did get the chance to say hello just day dreaming of the girl in the dart.

Fast forward a few years and here I was applying for a full time position at our local Fire Department. Once interviews were done they called and said they had made their decision and they were offering the position to the girl from Walpole. A few weeks go by and a training night comes where they introduce the newest hire Jenna. I saw her smile, I heard her laugh and I was so totally speechless. I could barely get the nerve to say a few words to her let alone carry on a conversation. I was mesmerized. After a few months I also ended up getting hired. We were both new on the job and went through all the necessary trainings and classes. We chatted here and there but never carried on a lengthy conversation. She was however always on my mind. Eventually things became a little less hectic. This is where the real story begins!

One night a Captain of mine (who happened to be a good friend of Jenna’s) and myself brought a patient to the Cath lab. For those not familiar it’s when a camera is inserted in to one’s heart. It was the wildest thing. Even wilder than that was how the only thing on my mind was Jenna. I messaged her. She was at a Red Sox game and messaged me back. We had a real conversation for the first time and it felt as though we’ve been best friends our whole life. I’ll never forget that feeling laying in bed that night. “I’ll never give it up if she ever gave me a chance”. A few days after we ended up going on a bike ride. We cruised and stopped along the river to talk. The ride ended with an unexpected slightly awkward hug. We were texting each other before we even got back home. We planned another ride this time lunch with her family. As we were eating it was asked if we were an item. We both were slightly caught off guard. She grabbed my hand under the table and I about died right then and there. We took the long way home after that. We made plans to meet back up later that evening. I was nervous that it wasn’t actually going to happen. There was no need to be nervous we met back up as planned. That night turned into our first real date. Under the stars in the back of the truck with pillows and blankets. A few beers some music and talking about everything. She says she kissed me first.. I’m still not so sure. The next day we began a weekend class together with our “son” the newest hire on the fire department. This class lasted 3 weekends and there wasn’t a night we didn’t go home together. We became inseparable. I guess some things never change.

The weeks turn into months. The girls fell in love with her just as I did. We go on countless adventures some all together and some just us. We took some big steps and moved in together. Slowly but surely making this life ours together.

One day she turns to me and says she booked a couples photo session at our spot where our first date first kiss was. Just to have some good pictures of the two of us. I instantly knew what I wanted that photo session become. I schemed with the photographer and we made the plan. I didn’t know how I didn’t blow it but everything worked perfectly. She said yes!!!

Here I am reminiscing about the days we’ve already shared and beyond excited for all the days to come. I am so grateful to get to share this life with my best friend, the love of my life, that girl in the dodge dart ❤️

Thank you to everyone who has been there and supported us and who will be apart of our day! Stay tuned this is going to get real good!!
